and the winner of the Pav off is....

Jennifer Bainbridge

Pavlova Queen.  This is the first time she has ever made one!  It tasted amazing Jen.

Here's mine

I'll stick with my day job thanks.

Great Aunt Enid's Pavlova Recipe

In my own words of course - after making it twice!

Last time I made a pav was when I was nine and I grilled it.  I wanted a bit of my sisters glory as she (who went on to become a chef and food writer) used to do all the baking when we were kids.

Preheat oven to 125 C.

Beat 3 egg whites till really stiff.  As in peaks standing up by themselves.

Slowly trickle in 175 g of white sugar with 1 teaspoon of corn flour mixed in.  You should aim to add it in one tablespoon at a time.  This takes ages but is worth it!  Trust me.

When its all nice and white and glossy and peaky and marshmallowy -

stir through 1 teaspoon malt vinegar and 1 teaspoon vanilla

Grease a baking tray, sprinkle it with a couple of drops of water
then spread out your baking paper.  Grab a dinner plate and trace around it on to the baking paper.

Now heap up all the pav mixture into this circle.  Fluff it all up and whack it in the oven for an hour.
When done, leave it overnight in the oven.

get busy with some cream, kiwfruit, flake or passionfruit.  De light ful!

Beatrice and the Fascinators

The wedding was not the first time she's worn an unfortunate fascinator...

here's the best one

It really is crazy though that the Toilet Seat is getting so much love.  And money!

yep we know its painful

Clearly having a baby is gonna be painful.

But would you really want to know exactly how painful?
this test could tell you!

I'm pretty sure if you knew what was in store you wouldn't really do it would you?

So the world is going crazy for Pippa's butt.  Since the wedding there's been heaps of work done on Brit Backsides

Don't pay 60 grand for it though - get into this instead

3 minutes a day - awesome!

Now if I could just get a dress like hers please.

you're cool Seth

I love Seth Rogan.

I love how he got his break writing on Da Ali G Show before Judd Apatow discovered him for the big screen.  I love how he wrote Superbad with his mate when he was 13 in High School.
In Pineapple Express I bet he wasn't even acting, likewise in Knocked Up.  It's his M.O to sit around getting high with his mates.
He's so cool and funny and he's got the best laugh - I loved hearing him in Kung Fu Panda and Monsters vs Aliens.

He's made Jonah Hill into his bitch, making him his sort-of little brother.

It's really sweet how Seth lost weight and then Jonah did too.
I reckon they should now take Casey Abraham under their wing

All 3 would be awesome together in a comedy remake of the Outsiders or something.

Awesome

You won't get much better than This

Neil Young TV.  Awesome.

r patz can act!

Robert Pattinson is more than just a pretty face.

I thought the twilight films were silly.. well I only saw two and they were silly.   I thought he got outdone by the sulky emo Kirsten Stewart.  And then there's the publicity hungry 'relationship'.

I've seen him in a few real movies now and he can actually act.  He was quite awesome in Little Ashes as Salvador Dali (so much cooler than Edward Cullen).  He was also quite good in the haunting Remember Me
In his latest, Water For Elephants not only is he a hottie in a tuxedo but he actually makes Reece Witherspoon quite foxy and sexy which must have been pretty hard.

The Wedding

It was so nice to be invited aye?

I mean it really was like being there.  And in a way,  it felt like we kinda knew them quite well after all.  It just seemed - amongst all the military precision of it all - so relaxed and nice and,  you know, so them.

I loved everything about their wedding.  Sometimes you might go to a wedding and its in some church that you never even knew they were part of and they are up there saying all these things, dressed in all their finery and you just think who the hell are these people?  Let's just say I've never really been to a Catholic wedding that celebrated any kind of anything unique to the couple.  It's a weird feeling when you think you know someone and then the religions and traditions get in the way and/or Bridezilla takes over and the wedding ends up being for everyone else but the ones making promises to each other. I don't think she would have been Bridezilla.  Not even when deciding on how to get the gorgeous trees in the Abbey.
The Wedding was obviously for a lot of other people - having the heads of state of all those other countries and all those Euro cousins Queen Victoria spawned invited -   but in some lovely way they made it about themselves too.  Oh sure there was pomp, pagentry, precision, tradition.  And fascinators, dear lord were there fascinators.  And the ugly sisters.    But there was also something lovely about the way they stood together and are together that made you realise you were witnessing a couple who really, really  know and love each other and have done for many, many years.

Their love story is rather simple and sweet - how many couples do you know who went to university who got married?  Yes it was widely exciting having the wedding of the century, watched by billions, no expense spared, some weird homage to the dead mother in law with the psalm, and the location, the ring and the chariot...
but it also seemed like these two have a very easy, confident air about them. And I love the fact they have been living together for years and he still managed to look at her like that when she finally got to his side, and whatever those whispered, blushed words between them were - they seemed simple and sweet, and honest and true (love).

And as for Prince Harry.  Naughty, lovable, rogue ish (brother from another father) sexy, swaggering in with that unkempt hair and been on the raz all night look about him.. Hot.
